How it works

1

Open the contract

Upload counterparty paper on the web or open it in Word with the add-in. .docx, PDF, even scans — clause structure and defined terms come along.

2

Review against your playbook

Deviations and missing protections stream in as checks complete, each grounded in a verbatim quote your own eyes can verify in one glance.

3

Redline, ask, deliver

Accept findings into tracked changes, ask the Assistant follow-ups, then certify and send the client memo. Audit trail throughout.

Built like an associate you can audit

Every finding cites the contract

No anchor, no finding. Each flag quotes the exact clause language, and a second model verifies the citation before you ever see it.

Redlines inside Word

Accepted findings become native tracked changes, authored as you — ready to send to the counterparty, not export to another tool.

Your playbook, enforced

Reviews run against your firm's positions — market standards, severities, and preferred redline language you control per check.

An assistant that shows its work

Ask the contract anything and follow up — the thread is saved with the review, and every answer carries verbatim quotes or says it found none.

Instructed redrafts

Select any clause, say “make consent reasonable, add a 30-day cure” — the redraft preserves defined terms and lands as a tracked change.

Client memo, after you certify

The plain-English memo (.docx or PDF) unlocks only after you attest to the review — the ABA Formal Opinion 512 supervision gate, in code.

Client documents, treated like client documents

Isolated per firm

Tenant isolation enforced in the database itself (row-level security), not just the app.

Your documents stay yours

Encrypted in transit, isolated per firm — and nothing is used to train models.

Delete with proof

Hard-delete your firm's data on request and receive a deletion certificate.

Append-only audit

Every review, action, and Assistant question is logged immutably.

Simple pricing, founding rates locked in

7-day trial with 3 free reviews. No credit card. Annual billing takes two months off.

Solo

$99/mo

15 reviews a month. Overage packs at $25 for 5 — no hard walls mid-deal.

Questions attorneys ask us

Is this legal advice?

No. Everything CasePen produces is draft attorney work product that requires review by a licensed attorney before use. It never advises your client — the client memo exists only after you certify the review, and it speaks through you.

How do you prevent hallucinated citations?

Two layers, both mandatory. Code verifies that every quoted passage appears character-for-character in the contract — a quote that doesn't round-trip is dropped. Then a second, independent model re-judges each finding against only the cited text. Anything unsupported is flagged for manual review, never asserted.

Which contracts does it handle today?

Commercial real-estate leases (tenant side) with a 45-check playbook, with an NDA playbook in attorney review next. Every check — market position, severity, preferred redline language — is customizable per firm, so your playbook is yours.

Where do my documents live?

In storage isolated per firm, encrypted in transit, with tenant isolation enforced by the database itself. Your documents are never used to train models, and you can hard-delete everything and receive a deletion certificate.
